News The Driving Standards Agency have announced following last years consultation, theory tests for learner drivers and motorcycle riders will increase £1 to £31 and practical driving tests will rise £5.50 to £62. These increased prices will apply to all tests booked on or after the 30th March 2009. There will also be an increase in the fees for those training to become a driving instructor and trying to join the ADI register. These will increase from the 24th April 2009. The cost of ADI 4 yearly registration remains unchanged. DSA Chief Executive, Rosemary Thew, thanked the public for participating in the public consultation, and said: “We are doing everything we can to ensure that fees remain as low as possible for our customers - particularly during the current economic climate. “The Agency is largely self-funding. We receive only a small amount from general taxation and have to recover most of our costs through test fees. We are confident that these increases will enable us to maintain our high standards and provide a first class service to all our customers.” New test fees from 30th March 2009
