News The mother of Victoria Mcbryde aged 24 who was tragically killed when another driver smashed into her staionary car. Has called for a driving ban for those caught sending texts whilst driving. The current penalty for using a mobile phone and driving is £60 and 3 penalty points. The other vehcile was being driven by 21 year old Philippa Curtis and travelling at 70mph at the time of the collision. It was found that she had sent 20 texts and taken 2 phone calls before the collision in November 2007. She was sentenced to 21 months in jail and given a three-year driving ban for causing death by dangerous driving. Victoria's family are running an online petition on the Downing Street website, Facebook and Twitter to try to get a change in the law.
